Red Door big 3
As a church we are committing to three things in 2019. Our mission is to “Introduce people to Jesus and together fully follow him.” We recognize that we need to be intentional in three areas:
Be with jesus
Our desire is that we would not just attend church, but also be with Jesus daily through His Word! S.O.A.P. journaling is a simple way to both record and process what God has spoken to you.
John 15:1-5 ESV “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. "
become like jesus
God's desire for all who know Him is for us to become more like Christ. We do this by first growing in our knowledge of Christ. Secondly we are shaped in community. Christian community is simply sharing a common life in Christ. We support one another, hold each other accountable and spur one another on towards Christ.
Proverbs 27:17 NIV “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
bring people to jesus
As Christians, we are all called to share what Christ has done. Jesus’ last words on earth were, “Go and make disciples of all nations”. Sharing our faith isn’t just a suggestion, it’s a command. And God is with us when we obey Him.
Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
